2: What are the advantages of a Far Infrared Sauna over a standard Dry Heat Sauna, a Steam Room, or sweating from exercise during a work-out?
- 1: Just how safe is a Far Infrared Sauna?
It is as safe as going outside and being warmed by the sun on a cold day. It is the Far Infrared rays from the sun that warms objects (the body) rather than the air surrounding it. The Far Infrared rays emitted by the Sun Light Sauna through the use of carbon panels duplicates the healthy rays that come from the sun.
What we don't want to do is confuse the Far Infrared rays with the harmful UVA or UVB rays also coming from the sun. The ultraviolet (UV) rays coming from the sun are the ones that causes sunburn and are harmful to the skin.
- 2: What are the advantages of a Far Infrared Sauna over a standard Dry Heat Sauna, a Steam Room, or sweating from exercise during a work-out?
As Reported in Circulation and the Journal of Cardiology:
Mayo Clinic Researchers Prove High-Tech Sauna
Can “Sweat” Disease Out of Your Body!
The rays emitted by a Far Infrared Sauna penetrate the body from 1.5 to 3.5 inches. This penetration results in a mobilization of the oils within the adipose (fat) layer, which in turn assists in releasing trapped toxins. The perspiration taken from individuals using a Far Infrared Sauna contain between 20% and 30% more toxins than perspiration tested using any of the other three modalities.
The Far Infrared rays also raise the internal core temperature of the body from 1 to 3 degrees. This can be done while keeping the room temperature between 100 and 130 degrees Fahrenheit. The increase in core temperature of the body simulates or creates an artificial fever to which the body responds automatically. This response will enhance and strengthen the immune system.
The body will also respond and start to cool the body down by increasing blood flow throughout the body. This is accomplished by an increase in energy output, an increase in heart rate, which becomes aerobic exercising.
A Dry Heat Sauna heats up the space that encloses you to a temperature of 180 to 220 deg Fahrenheit. A room at that temperature will dry out the mucus membranes and sometimes create breathing problems. The high temperatures experienced can create a harsh environment for people in a diseased state. A dry heat sauna will make you sweat, but it does so by working from the outside in.
A steam room heats up the space that encloses you, using moist heat and with temperatures up to 150 degrees Fahrenheit. Many people cannot tolerate these high temperatures without adverse reactions. And like the dry heat sauna, it works to heat you from the outside in.
Exercise will do many things that a Far Infrared Sauna will do, but most people cannot sustain the exercise for the period of time sufficient in order to increase the core temperature of the body or to obtain aerobic benefits.
- 3: What are some indicators that would indicate that I am toxic and need to detoxify?
Toxic overload can normally be recognized as the body being out of balance. Two of the major symptoms of toxic overload are Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and Fibromyalgia. These include the lessor or individual symptoms of muscle and joint pain, loss of dexterity and just feeling sick all over. Some others may include allergies, being overly sensitive to specific chemicals or smells, dry and burning skin, eczema, and acne. The outward expressions of mood swings, anxiety, depression, poor concentration or brain fog, memory loss, and insomnia can all be indicators of toxic overload.
Many experts believe that it is this build-up of toxins that leads to many chronic diseases mentioned above, such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromylagia.
The build-up of these toxins in the cells prevent the cells' ability to receive an adequate amount of oxygen and nutrients. Not only do the cells not receive the nutrients they need, they also cannot efficiently eliminate the metabolic waste that is created when energy is produced by the cells.
“Incurable” chronic diseases that were thought to have no known cause often disappear once toxic chemicals are gone. The Far Infrared Sauna produces the desired effect in the safest, most economical way of departing stored toxins. Sherry A. - 4: How often should I use a Far Infrared Sauna?
A sauna treatment could be as often as every day. However, the benefits of a Far Infrared Sauna treatment continue after you have left the Sauna. Some of the toxins that are released during the session will be removed from the body through perspiration. Those remaining toxins that were released will be picked up in the blood stream and delivered to the organs so they can be eliminated via the urine and feces. So, in effect, the detoxification process will continue for a couple of days following a session.
A good target to shoot for when first beginning would be twice per week for three weeks. Followed by three times a week for two weeks and then a maintenance program of once a week or once every other week.
Researchers in New York treated patients with severe Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) by giving them 15-minute saunas daily for two weeks. Fully 85% of the patients saw significant improvement in their ejection fractions, and the amount of blood their hearts were able to pump out.
Heart patients with ventricular tachycardia (racing heartbeat) reduced the incidents by 80%, with regular Far Infrared sauna treatments in just weeks.
- 5: What kind of results can I expect?
Eliminates or reduces joint pain!
The perspiration obtained when using the Far Infrared Sauna deeply cleanses the skin from the inside. Improving the tone, color and texture. This creates beautiful, radiant looking skin. The perfect solution to aging.
As an external source of detoxification, the Far Infrared Sauna Treatments are recognized as a very effective process by which both toxic chemicals and heavy metals can be removed from the body through the skin and therefore not overload the internal organs in the detoxification process.
It is especially useful for people who are chronically ill because is uses low room heat in the process.
The elusive creator of ill health, STRESS! The deep core heating of the body is extremely relaxing and therefore removes the daily emotional stresses of the day. By eliminating the accumulation of carcinogen creating chemicals and heavy metals you remove much of the physical stress that has been added to the bodily functions.
Not only will your immune system get a boost by elimination of both emotional and physical stress. The immune system will become enhanced when the core temperature of the body is raised 1 to 3 degrees Fahrenheit, because the body will recognize it as a fever and put the bodies natural defenses to work. The production and distribution of white blood cells and killer T cells is a way of artificially stimulating the immune system.
As the temperature of the body increases the natural response by the body would be to increase blood flow to the extremities and skin to cool the body down. To accomplish the above task the heart must beat faster and work harder which results in cardiovascular conditioning.
With increased blood flow to the extremities and skin, more nutrients and oxygen will be delivered to those areas resulting in a decrease of acne, and skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. Burns and open wounds will be able to heal faster and in doing so it will reduce scarring.
Many experts believe that a build up of toxins in the body can effect the thyroid and the metabolic processes so the number one way that weight loss and weight control can come about is through the detoxification process. You will also enhance the metabolic system when the blood is diverted to the capillaries and adipose layers. This can result in the burning of calories during a Far Infrared Treatment.
Cellulite will also be affected by the penetration of the Far Infrared rays. Mobilizing the oils trapped within the superficial fascia pockets located within the adipose layer and allowing them to move through the skin with the perspiration will slowly remove and eliminate the cellulite.

- Children - their core body temperatures will elevate faster than an adults.
- Elderly - The ability to maintain core body temperatures decreases with age. It may put a greater strain on the heart than it's used too.
- Cardiovascular conditions - require caution when exposed to prolonged heat. The cardiac output will increase and may put a strain on the heart.
- Recent injuries - Recent acute joint injuries should not be exposed to heat in the first 48 hours after the injury.
